Here we go again. Two months ago I showed you how to lose 10 pounds in a month. It worked so well for me that I was elated. The bad news is when I got off the diet my the weight came right back. This is called rebound weight gain.
Rebound weight gain happens because your body misses the lost weight. It wants it back and sends hunger signals to your brain even though you are getting the right amount of nutrition. And it happened to me. I feel like Oprah.
---Sidebar---
You gotta love Oprah. She endorses weight loss products and techniques all the time. So why does she do this? Is she so constantly overweight that she needs to continuously diet? Maybe. But, look at it this way if she didn't, she would probably be grossly obese, which she is not. So, by continually promoting weight loss she is able to keep focused on losing or maintaining a respectable weight. By doing that she is comfortable with herself.
------------
So what is a respectable weight? Is it being at your clinically ideal weight? Yes. Is it being comfortable with your current weight? Yes, that too. Is it constantly dieting to be thinner than you are now? No, not neccessarily, that doesn't even sound comforting. Is it allowing yourself to become obese, because it runs in the family? No, definitely not. Obesity is considered a disease and can be avoided. So is anorexia.
Respectable weight is where you want to be, where you feel good with yourself. You can be very comfortable at 30 pounds overweight, or even 30 pounds underweight. All though, the added health risks of obesity (and Anorexia) will catch up to you in the long run (and make you very uncomfortable). You may think being overweight doesn't feel bad, you don't even notice it. Somewhere in the back of your mind though is the thought that you could always feel better, if you just tried.
I don't feel bad that I gained back the ten pounds I just lost. But I will this afternoon when I go out to shovel the fresh 6 inches of snow that got dumped on my driveway. And in the spring when I go racing again. So for me it is back on the Lose 10 pounds in a Month diet. And I'm comfortable with that.

Update to my "Lose 10 pounds in a month" weight loss program. I weighed in today and there was good news. I have lost another 3 pounds. Which brings my total to 5 pounds lost so far (this week). Needless to say I was astounded. Especially since my brother said he fixed the scale. So I double checked with another scale. And sure enough that one had an identical reading.

Glycemic Index measures how fast the carbohydrates in a food turn into sugar in the body. Foods with a high glycemic index convert into sugar very quickly, with negative physical effects. Foods with a low-glycemic index turn into sugar gradually, helping maintain your body’s chemical balance. In general, foods with a low index are preferable. | Glycemic Load | Like carbohydrates, fats can have a positive or a negative effect. Good fats can lower your risk of heart disease. Good fats are found in olive oil, fish, olives, avocados and walnuts. But remember, even good fats have a lot of calories, so add these to your meal plan sparingly! |

By taking the right vitamins you can improve your health, prevent disease, slow the aging process and even improve your immune system. Studies show that taking a daily multivitamin can help with a specific health concerns such as heart disease.
B Complex When you're under emotional and physical stress, your body taps your stores of B vitamins to produce stress hormones like adrenaline. This in turn depletes the B vitamins necessary for the production of the hormones that let you relax again.
Vitamin C helps your body prevent the overproduction of the stress hormones cortisol and DHEA. Excessive amounts of these hormones cause a dangerous increase in blood pressure, blood clotting, and blood sugar.
Vitamin E acts as your cardiovascular system's housekeeper. It cleans out cell-damaging free radicals and also helps to prevent platelets from clumping together and clogging your blood vessels.
Zinc Your body produces a series of different immune system reactions that fight disease, and zinc is a key player in each of these reactions. A zinc deficiency suppresses your immune system, but studies have shown that taking zinc supplements can restore a normal immune response.

In today’s health-conscious environment, taking care of the body has become a top priority. Many people, however, focus on reshaping their physiques and fine-tuning their muscles, often neglecting other parts of their bodies that need attention, too. One part of the body that frequently gets overlooked is the eyes. Certian vitamins and minerals helps support your eye health.
Bilberry extract (dried fruit) has an extensive history of providing benefits for the eyes. The fruit is similar to a cranberry or huckleberry, and often called the European blueberry. White in color, bilberries can be used in the same ways as other berries–in jams, pies and desserts.
Lutein (Tages Erecta - flower) a powerful antioxidant shown to protect your eyes from macula degeneration. Helps with diabetes mellitus which may cause degeneration of the retina.
Citrus Bioflavonoids critical to absorption of Vitamin C. Increases the strength and permeability of capillaries. Forms a protective barrier against infections and helps lower cholesterol.
Vitamins and minerals - A, B6, B12, C, D & E and minerals calcium, copper, magnesium, selenium and zinc. All of which are essential to eye health and overall wellness. After all seeing is believing.

Food Myth #5 - Exercise alone can help reduce your weight. Not quite true - while exercise is an important part of any diet, exercise alone is not the best way to lose weight. Exercising for even an hour burns sadly few fat calories. Combining a healthy eating plan with calorie reduction and exercise is the best way to lose weight effectively and keep it off.
Losing weight is simple, burn more calories than you eat. There are many ways to increase the number of calories that you burn. Ryan Newman (AKA - Rocket Man) blasted into the lead of the Daytona 500 on the last lap to capture the checkered flag. With a great push from teammate Kurt Bush, Newman was able to lead only one lap. The one that counted, lap 200.
Rocket Man, Ryan Newman lived up to his nickname. Newman's first win at Daytona, also gave car owner Roger Penske his first Daytona 500 victory too. The Penske cars ganged up on Tony Stewart, swept by him in corner 3 on the last lap. Then held on for a 1-2 finish. And the celebration was on. The bubbly was sprayed all over everybody in vitory lane, and continued to flow well into the night.
And now for the bad news. Monday morning follows Sunday night every single week. For some of us that means a hangover, a slow start and a sluggish day. But it doesn't need to be that way. A good energy booster or 2 usually does the job. Coffee is just not enough to cure a hangover. You need vitamins, minerals and herbs to get going in the morning.
My favorite energy drink is called the "Fizz Bomb." A delicious concoction of an effervescent energy drink and a good hydrater. Heres the recipe. In a glass of cold water drop in one LiftOff tablet along with 1 scoop H3O fitness drink. Allow to fizz for 3 minutes, stir and drink. Contains concentrations of Vitamins B6, B12, C and E. Also contains herbs L-Taurine, Ginseng, Ginko Biloba and Guarana extract. And minerals Biotin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Thiamin, potassium and Magnesium.
But wait thats not all. To keep yourself going strong on Monday morning try adding a good multivitamin and a metabolism booster. This will help you fight off any mid-morning fatique. Don't forget to eat a light breakfast too. The combination of a little food, a fizz Bomb and vitamins will give you the energy you need to be a rocket man yourself. To learn more...

The Low Carb Diet has become extremely popular with some dieters. Though effective in losing weight, it may be causing you more damage than good. The reason this diet has become so popular is because a reduced amount of carbohydrates can lead to weight loss.
By cutting down on carbohydrates you are not necessarily losing body fat, but more so water weight. For every gram of carbohydrate that is consumed you hold 2.4 grams of water in our body. Therefore, by cutting down on the carbohydrates you are losing water weight.
The problem with cutting down or eliminating carbohydrates is that this contributes to a depletion of muscle glycogen. This will leave you feeling low on energy and struggling to make it through the day. Yet, being active during the day is crucial to dieting.
Another downside to the low carb diet is that your brain burns carbohydrates for energy on a daily basis. Cutting down or eliminating carbs makes it difficult for the brain to operate at 100%. This will makes it difficult to get through the day both physically, and mentally as well.

Many weight loss experts tell us to boost our metabolism to lose weight. The theory is that if you have higher metabolism you will burn more calories. If you burn more calories than you consume you will lose weight. This doesn't mean eating fewer calories will cause weight loss.
If you decrease your caloric intake too much your body will store what it needs in the form of fat. So, don't eat less, try eating smaller portions more often. This will keep your metabolism up, allowing you to burn more calories. It also means that you can eat the foods you like.
As you change your metabolism your body will begin to burn fat calories. As your energy level increases you have no more need to store energy, your body will shed fat pounds.
When you change your metabolism your body needs time to adjust to the new regimen. You may not notice any immediate change. Over time though you should notice that you are losing weight steadily. As time goes by your body will shed more and more unnecessary fat deposits and you'll feel better too.
Find out what weight loss habits you can adapt to boost your metabolism and burn more fat...
