Does Herbalife cause an upset stomach?

Hi, I am doing cleansing program from two days. Suddenly I had a fever, headache and diarrhea today. I am just taking nutritional shake and Afresh (energy drink). First day I took shake with milk. Since I have problems with milk as it causes diarrhea sometimes. Though I am not lactose intolerent. Second day I took shake with half milk and half water. Today due to diarrhea I didn't take any of the product. Should I continue it? Which is a better option to take shake with full milk or with milk and water mix. Also I had a problem with protein digestion. Please Help

San, fever, headache and diarrhea are common symptoms of detoxification. The cleansing program is probably the most likely cause. Here's what happens; as your cells begin to rebuild themselves they release toxins and pollutants that have accumulated over time.

Normally you don't notice toxins, pollutants and irritants as they pass through, but sometimes the body stores these in cells. When you start cleansing the body these toxins, pollutants and irritants are released back into the blood stream for removal.

The removal process takes a while but in the mean time they can cause the symptoms you have listed. The good news is that these symptoms should pass in about 2 weeks time. After that you should feel much better.

The nutritional shake mix may be causing the upset stomach. You mentioned that you have problems digesting protein. You may be allergic to large portions of protein. Two things you can do here. First improve your digestion and second reduce portion size.

You can improve your digestion with the addition of Cell Activator. CA will improve your nutrient absorption which will allow you to get more out of your food. By getting more nutrition from food you can cut down on portion size.

If the upset stomach persists consult a health care professional. You may be allergic to something else. If you do this, ask him/her to look at the product labels on your containers. And to test for those ingredients.

Be warned though that most health care professionals do not have training in the science of nutrition. So make sure your doctor is trained in nutrition before you accept what they say.

If your doctor automatically rejects the Herbalife products out of hand ask them to produce the scientific data behind their opinion. If they can't, you know their opinion is not based on fact.
