Herbalife approvals from various organizations for safety.

Hi, My name is Sivabalan. I am from India. I have been using Herbalife for a couple of weeks now with good results with respect in terms of losing weight, good sleep, excellent energy levels, reduced stress levels, decreased anxiety, clarity of mind.

When I recommend the product to friends the first question is whether the product is approved by various agencies such as FDA, WHO, UN, Olympic committee, & by the medical council of India, & the Govt of India. They quote other M.L.M companies such as Amway have these approvals for safety & are available for viewing in their websites.

I have asked various distributors & also the corporate office in Bangalore, the answer was not satisfactory. They said it is in the www.Herbalifescience.com, but no such clarification or publication is available.

I would be grateful if you could lead me to the right part of the website where I could see those approvals to show to the people in doubt which would help me to take the product to a large number of people.

Science and Nutrition Center at UCLAHi Sivabalan, first of all I understand your concern. Many people have asked similar questions. The best answer is to send the people to www.Herbalifescience.com website.

Within the United States, the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) regulates our conventional foods, dietary supplements and cosmetics under the Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act, as amended. All Herbalife products contain ingredients either already recognized as safe or otherwise specifically permitted.

Typically a countries government's approval is required to sell products in that country. To get that kind of information you should contact your countries FDA equivalent and ask them.

Because Herbalife dietary supplements are disclaimed to NOT prevent, cure, diagnose or treat any disease, there are no official medical documents to point to, at least not to the general public.

You may find more information on safety and Herbalife if you were looking for a specific ingredient or medical symptom.

Herbalife does have a Nutrition Advisory board that ensures the products are safe to use within defined standards. Herbalife does have their own scientific laboratories that are subject to inspection and enforcement by the FDA.

Not all the information you request is available to the general public but what is, is available is on the www.Herbalifescience.com website.

If you need more assistance you can contact Herbalife at this number 1-866-617-4273. They have a team of people dedicated to helping with specific product information and will be glad to assist you.

herbalife contact
by: sampathkumar

Hi I am Sampathkumar from coimbatore tamilnadu india i want to contact K.Sivabalan of salem tamilnadu india Can i have his E-mail id and phone number if possible
-------------
Hi Sampathkumar, I may be able to put you in touch with K.Sivibalan if he agrees to allow the contact. Off hand I cannot just give out his personal info.

There is a confidentiality clause when submitting to this website which states: All correspondence will be kept secret.

If Sivibalan has accepted notifications from this page he will get your message. In that case He can agree to let me give you his contact info. In that case I would need your contact info to relay the message. DO NOT publish your contact info here (I will remove it for your protection). Instead use the regular contact Us form to contact me.

If you both wish the contact to pass through I will need both your permissions. The Contact Us form is confidential and with that I can put you in touch.

Does that help

safety
by: Sivabalan

Tim, Thank U for your reply but we need to understand that all I am asking for is for a list of organizations that approved the product with respect to safety. The Herbalife science do tell us about the FDA part but not all of it. It would be very helpful if the organization can simply provide a small portion at some part of the website where these details are provided. If this is taken in the positive sense it would help people like myself to promote the product in a big way. As you have yourself said that there is a lot of similar queries. This would make things a lot easier. As you (Herbalife) is currently in 71 countries then a small note in the Herbalife India website can indicate what are the various approvals that where obtained from the Govt it would be so much easier. It is not so easy for an individual to find out about these.

Tim, are you answering on behalf of the Herbalife or on a personal capacity?. Thank U.
----------
Sivabalan, I am answering on my own behalf. But as it happens Herbalife contacted me the other day with advice on answering questions. We did discus the very issue you are bringing up, where are the official safety documents.

The HBL representative said that they do have a product awareness department dedicated to answering questions about product safety and their usage. I am not sure if this is unique in the supplement industry but wouldn't be surprised if it is.

We briefly talked about why only a certain amount of information is available to the public. The major reason is that many official documents are not free nor allowed to be shared with third parties without prior permission.

Because HBL is a U.S. company and is compliant with the rules and regulations set forth by the FDA, they only publish their compliance statement with the U.S.

The HBL rep did say that this issue has been addressed and they have people trained to help distributors get that info. She urged that I announce the telephone number 1-866-617-4273 and recommend people contact Herbalife directly.

She said they recently upgraded the product awareness department and would love my help spreading the word. :)

She also mentioned that the herbalifescience.com website is fairly new. Also because HBL is in 71 countries each countries official website is operated by people in those countries. It is up to the individual website operators to publish.

To research information about Herbalife it is best to contact them. Their approach is more of a one-on-one relationship to help individuals get the right information.

I totally agree with you it would be nice to have a list of approved organizations on the websites.
