I have a very high metabolism and I cannot gain weight.

Q.I have a very high metabolism and I cannot gain weight. My energy level sometimes makes me feel worn out. Is there a way to gain weight/muscle that is healthy?

We received your question at Metabolism.com and have an answer to your problem. We are currently offering a weight gain program to help individuals such as yourself, gain weight.

The core part of the program is a Personalized Nutritional Program.

The Perfect Weight Gain Solution

Gaining weight can seem as daunting as trying to lose weight. Hard training at the gym, numerous meals per day, all yielding no results. There is a formula for successful weight gain.

Step 1: Calculating unique caloric needs. Basal Metabolic Rate will be calculated, and added to your unique level of activity, and on a case by case basis, adjusted for desired weight gain total.

Step 2: Analyzing macronutrient needs. The percent of carbohydrate, proteins, and fats, as well as their sources, can have a profound effect on weight gain. Your unique needs will be the sole factor in determining such percentages. A menu pattern based on this information, and the calculation of step 1, will completely remove all the guess work out of consuming enough calories. A daily meal pattern will provided to avoid the tedious task of counting calories.

Step 3: Designing an individualized comprehensive supplementation program: Supplements are a necessity in a weight gain program. All supplement recommendations are planned around your individual needs, allergies, sensitivities, and compounding factors, such as reaching caloric requirements. At the center of the supplement program is a complete high protein meal, which will be adjusted with other ingredients based on individual needs, current training programs, and caloric requirements.

Are you hitting those reps hard at the gym, but not making gains? Altering the anabolism/catabolism balance through targeted supplementation can be a successful addition to a weight gain plan. Put simply, anabolism is the process of building tissue, and catabolism is the process of tissue breakdown. Such balancers include beta hydroxy-beta methybutyrate (HMB) and phosphatidylserine. In human studies, HMB has shown promise as an anti-catabolic when used in conjunction with a resistance training program. A number of studies have indicated that admistration of phosphatidylserine reduced ACTH (adrenocorticotropic hormone) response during exercise. ACTH triggers secretion of cortisol, which is most responsible for post exercise catabolism. Supplementation reduced soreness and chronic fatigue that is associated with high intensity strength training. A full explanation of all supplements will be provided with the 4 step program.

Step 4: Personal training schedule: Proper training is a key factor to successfully alter body composition by building muscle. Splitting or compounding opposing muscle groups during training, as well as recommendations for duration, repetitions, and specific techniques will be provided.

The Personalized Nutritional Plan includes one follow up with your very own personalized nutritionist.

Good Luck!
