Hi Tim,
I have started using Herbalife weight loss with F1, F3 & Afresh as well from today. I have seen many of my friends lose weight by using Herbalife. I am 5.5 ft in height and 65kgs in weight. My age is 21yrs. I want to lose 10kgs of weight. I am drinking twice the milk shake and one cup of Afresh daily with a single meal i.e. lunch and I exercise for 1hr daily (30min walk & 30min yoga) with about 3liters of water. How much weight do you think I can lose in 1 months time and please tell me if I am doing it right. Awaiting your reply.
Regards,
Prathima.
Here is how the program is supposed to work. Obviously you need to burn more calories than you consume. By boosting your metabolism you have more energy to burn. That is what the Afresh is designed for. It contains Orange Pekoe (black) tea and Guarana known metabolism boosters. This combination of herbs may make you feel good as well as energetic. When the body gets superior nutrition it burns fat as energy and you tend to lose more weight. However, if the body is burning fat, getting proper nutrition and you are exercising properly the body may convert fat into muscle mass. Muscle gain can offset weight loss at an equal rate. By converting the stored energy (fat) into muscle you could gain weight or remain the same weight. This is one reason some people don't lose any weight at all even when they try so hard.
The question was "are you doing it right?" Essentially, yes you are. Actually
low aerobic exercise like yoga and walking is better for weight loss than working out in the gym everyday. Low aerobic or moderate exercise is recommended with the Herbalife ShapeWorks programs. Since you aren't pushing your muscles as hard you should have slower muscle gain and more weight loss.
To tell if you are converting weight to muscle you will want to check for that during the course of your program. Since muscle is a higher density
than fat it takes less space to equal the same weight in fat. So it goes to reason that if you still weigh the same after dieting for a while you should be smaller. That is why it is important to weigh and measure yourself periodically. To keep track of it all you might want a personal progress chart.
